Last week Microsoft held the 2017Data Insights Summit which brought over 2,000 people from around the world to Seattle, Washington. During this two-day summit, there were various keynote speakers and breakout sessions designed to talk about what is the latest and greatest in data. Vizion Solutions was lucky enough to have been invited by Microsoft and here is what they brought back to us: PowerBI Premium has been released. What is the different you ask between regular PowerBI and Premium you ask? PowerBI was designed with big corporations with many users in mind. Companies will be able to buy their own PowerBI server and can skip the hassle of adding individual people to groups, which will be a life saver for large companies who have a ton of users. An upcoming feature of PowerBI that will be released next quarter is the ability to make a Drill-Through Page. Instead of having to apply the same filters across pages to gain additional insight, you will be able to drill down on a data
This past Wednesday, April 19th, Vizion Solutions attended NOCHEs 7th annual Expys Awards. NOCHE (Northeast Ohio Council of Higher Education) started the Expys in 2011 with the intention to honor and celebrate the best of the best in Northeast Ohios internship programs. Internship programs can have a hugely positive impact on companies and NOCHE realized this, thus the creation of the Expys. Each year a panel of esteemed judges come together to read piles of applications and pick finalists for the 6 categories that are honored: Best Intern, Best Large Company Internship, Best Small Company Internship, The Coolest Internship, Best Supervisor/Mentor and Best College Advisor. Vizion Solutions was lucky enough to be nominated in the Best Small Company Internship category for the third time since 2015. At previous years Expys Vizion has taken home two different awards: 2014 Best New Internship 2015 Best Small Company Internship. Although we did not win this year, Vizion and our Team Members
In this day and technological age, recruiting efforts (like career fairs) have become more and more automated. Several articles lately express that recruiting is a dying field because technology allows companies easy access to a diverse candidate pool. While I will not disagree with that, I will say that it does not have the same effect/outcome as face to face interaction that you may gain at an event like a career fair.
